HPI and Banc One provided a $1.3 million investment in 641 West Main to kick-off redevelopment of the railroad corridor in downtown Madison, WI. The 60 unit multi-family development completed in 1993, is a three-story elevator apartment building. The mixed-income development has 37 Section 42 qualified apartments (62%). The remaining 23 units are market rate. There are seven efficiencies, 20 one-bedroom, 20 two-bedroom, 10 three-bedroom and 3 four-bedroom apartments. 641 West Main serves a large disabled population and young working families in the downtown area. Nineteen apartments offer barrier-free designs. An underground garage provides covered parking for 40 vehicles, with additional surface parking for 20 vehicles on the 1.6-acre site. Other amenities include a community room and playground.
