Genesis, constructed in 1992 through an investment by Heartland, provides 20 apartment homes for older adults in Oregon. This mixed-income development uses the Housing Tax Credit program to offer quality housing affordable to seniors earning less than 60% of Dane County median income. Heartland worked in partnership with Genesis Housing, Inc., a local non-profit group, to address the need for senior housing in Oregon. Genesis Housing serves as the day-to-day manager for the apartments and also provides a variety of services to the residents. Permanent financing for the development is provided through the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).
