Property Description
The historic Antigo Railroad Depot was renovated for use as affordable housing in 1992. The restoration preserves the architectural heritage of the community while creating 34 mixed income apartment homes in downtown Antigo. In addition, the Depot provides 5,800 square feet of commercial space. The mixed-income development includes 12 one-bedroom and 22 two-bedroom apartments.

Built in 1907 for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, the 2-story Depot is constructed of locally produced red-brick trimmed with stone, metal and wood. Its simple Classical Revival design was the work of Architect Charles Sumner Frost, when he was a partner with Alfred Grainger. The building, which includes the original passenger station and baggage room/express office, is on the National Register of Historic Places.
