Water Tower Place, located on the North side of downtown Beloit, was one of the first investments to kick off the Beloit 2000 River Front Redevelopment project. Constructed in 1995, Water Tower Place provides 77 apartment homes for families in the City. The 4-acre development includes 3-buildings with laundry facilities and underground parking, as well as 10,000 square feet of commercial space. Heartland's investment in Water Tower Place encouraged other businesses, including ABC Supply company, to reinvest in adjacent inner-city properties. In addition to the housing, the historic stone Water Tower next to the site was restored through a grant from the Alliant Energy Foundation and now serves as a city park.
